Principal’s Message:

Back-to-School Night! Our annual BTSN was a great success again this year. We had approximately 1,000 parents attend the event and our hope is that all left with a greater understanding of their child’s program and a clearer picture of the middle school concept. We encourage you to continue to take an active role in your child’s education by keeping in touch with the many happenings her at school. The web-site is a great place to keep up with the school events and team expectations. In addition, the EFriday folder is populated with many of the forms and communications that may have historically been sent home in paper form. It’s a good idea to check the site weekly so you don’t miss out on school and community events.

Grade Reporting: As you know we have eight official reporting times throughout the school year, four interim reports and four report cards to help you stay abreast of your child’s academic progress. The first of these reports came home on October 8th in the form of an interim progress report (IPR). With the addition of our new student information system Eschool+, you received the new format interim progress report. If you have a question regarding the report you should contact your child’s teacher or guidance counselor for details. The first marking period officially ends on November 5th and the first MP report card will be arriving home with your child on Thursday November 19th.

Parent Conferences: It’s hard to believe that we are quickly approaching the end of the first quarter! With that brings the November Parent Conferences Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 23, 24, 25. Conference letters will be coming home in early November. We will also post a copy of the form on the web-site. Since our teams have approximately 140 students, it is not possible for teachers to meet with all parents. If you do not receive a conference but would still like to meet with the team, please contact your child’s guidance counselor who can assist in arranging a conference for you.

BNO & GNO: Boys Night Out and Girls Night Out were both highlights to a wonderful start to the school year. We had approximately 100 boys and 250 girls attend the separate events. Much planning was devoted the events and feedback from students, parents and staff was overwhelmingly positive. The picture show on this page provides a quick view of the events. Thanks to all involved for making these nights a great success in helping students connect with our school and staff!
