Holland Middle School has been proud to serve the families of Northampton residents in the Council Rock School District for the last 35 years. Our architecturally unique facility on East Holland Road is home to approximately 700 seventh and eighth graders.
Students who have attended Churchville, Hillcrest, Holland and Rolling Hills Elementary schools filter into Holland Middle School. At HMS we pride ourselves on providing a high quality education for all of our students. We serve a wide variety of learning styles; 14% of our students receive special services and 14% are classified in the Humanities/Gifted Program.
Holland Middle School, along with our sister schools, Newtown Middle School and Richboro Middle School, is organized into interdisciplinary teams. Each team is comprised of approximately 160 students who are a heterogenous representation of our school population. The learning needs of our students are met through a core curriculum consisting of English, Reading, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies which are categorized according to individual need as Honors, Academic of Gifted and Learning Support. Our students who demonstrate proficiency in reading are given a choice between the following World Languages: French, Spanish and German. In addition to their daily academic courses, our students participate in a rich and diverse arts rotation that includes Art, Family and Consumer Sciences, Industrial Arts, Technology Music, Health and Physical Education.
Our students have the good fortune to participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities which serve as an enhancement to their academic endeavors in addition to providing a social outlet for them. Holland Middle School is proud to offer a program of 15 athletic teams. These students compete with neighboring schools and provide students with the experience of participating on a team with a common goal, interacting with each other outside the classroom, as well as maintaining physical fitness. Students may also participate in Band, Chorus and Orchestra. Each program boasts multiple performance groups who participate in concerts throughout the year. There is a wide variety of clubs and organizations designed to benefit the diverse interests of our students.
Holland Middle School has a combined professional and support staff of approximately 70 individuals who are highly accomplished and qualified. They work together daily and tirelessly with one common goal: To support the learning and development of our students in a safe and positive environment as they navigate these pivotal years of emotional, social and academic growth.
