Dear Council Rock SOUTH Marching Band Families,
Due to the likelihood of steady rain this evening, the Council Rock South Marching Band will not participate in tonight’s Home Game vs. C. B. East. Rehearsal this afternoon is also postponed.
The Competition on Saturday, October 3rd WILL BE HELD RAIN OR SHINE and we will be in FULL UNIFORM. In the event of Rain, the performances will be moved indoors. The students have already been prepared for that possibility.
Enjoy your night off, and I will see you on Saturday at 12:30 pm.
Congratulations to the South Band on their performances at our home game vs. Truman! Well done! We now have a 98% complete show. This week, we will strive to get the remaining 3 charts worked in, and we must strive to get all of our “Big Moments” cleaned up and competition ready!
Saturday, October 3rd (which is an SAT Day) marks our first marching band competition of the season. We value all of our competitions as these are truly the only performances where the audience is there only to appreciate marching band. Our videos won’t be blemished by the constant talking, and walking through the stands that we will always encounter at Football Games. This performance also has an impact on our ranking and performance order for the National Championships in November! Let’s give it everything we’ve got this week so that on Saturday, we can all look back on our early season accomplishments “WITH PRIDE!”
· SIGN UP FOR THE PERFORMANCE AT RICHBORO E.S.

2014 Marching Season Recap:
2014 Winter Guard Season Recap
The 2014 Winter Guard Season has come to its dramatic conclusion. With a score of 90.98, Council Rock South has won their first ever MAIN Event Championship, capping off an undefeated season. Coming off of a 13th place finish in Scholastic Novice class in 2013, South set off on a mission to bring a far more energetic, and sleek look to the stage in 2014. Our Production entitled “Boxed In” featured an original composition that was crafted simultaneously alongside our staging. The staff was confident that our team would be more competitive in the Novice Class. We were so successful however, that we were promoted to Scholastic Regional-A at our first competition!
Our expectations for the new classification were open-ended as we headed into our first competition in the new class. Low and behold, we managed to finish on top once again! Prior to the start of the winter guard season, we registered for our first ever Winter Guard International Regional, assuming that we would be well out of our league as a locally Novice color guard. Everyone was thrilled when we not only made finals, but also won the scholastic A division. When the team also won the Mid-Season show on the following week, it was clear that we had a shot at winning it all! Now that April 12th has come and gone, I can pinch myself and believe that it did happen. Council Rock South is the 2014 Scholastic-A Regional Champion.

2013 Winter Guard Season Recap
The 18 members of 2013 Council Rock South winter guard took the bold step of being the FIRST-EVER winter guard here at South. The winter guard rehearsed two to three times per week, and performed a total of 5 times in various competitions throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The group of ladies and gentlemen worked hard, and got better at color guard every week. Eventually, the team made that milestone breakthrough, and their score jumped 13 points! 2013 was the ‘dawn’ of a new era, and a time we will always be proud of!

2012 Marching Band Season Recap
In our first foray into Ranking-style competition in the Cavalcade of Bands circuit, South delivered an impressive finale performance. The band stood at parade rest in the stands as the scores were announced… in 6th place… in 5th place…. By the time the announcer got to 4th place, some of the students were already jumping up and down. When South was announced in 3rd place with a score of 89.55 the members erupted into cheer! The band would later find out that they also won the caption of Ensemble Visual, in a field of competitors that represent the very best of south eastern Pennsylvania.
In addition to their strong performance in the Yankee division (80 members and above,) South had the third highest score out of all 21 bands in competition! The top 3 finish meant that we were able to take home yet another trophy. The Bold and Gold band also had a chance to see bands they have likely never seen before, performing in styles that were very new to our band. Above all, our students represented Council Rock South most admirably both on and off the field.
A very heartfelt Thank you to all of our Parents, Staff, Volunteers and our talented young people on making 2012 one of our best marching seasons so far.
