Originally known as The Missing Piece Organization, www.missingpiece.org, NeighborHeart...www.neighborheart.org was created to provide a better quality of life for children and adults with autism and other special needs by:
- Providing Quality Of Life Grants to families that care for children and adults with autism and other special needs. These grants provide low and moderate-income families with stipends that may be used for a wide variety of supports related to their family member.
-
Fostering an ongoing campaign of Awareness & Compassion for all individuals with special needs. Individuals with special needs deserve the same respect as everyone else and we will strive to educate others who do not understand this mindset.
Council Rock School District has partnered with The Missing Piece Foundation/NeighborHeart for the 2007/2008 school year, pledging to help heighten Autism Awareness within our district's community. Additionally, fundraising committees have been formed at each CR building and plans are underway to organize many various fundraising events throughout the year. The proceeds from these events will be donated to assist NeighborHeart with improving the qualitly of life of Autistic children and adults.DONATIONS:Make checks payable and send to:NeighborHeartPO Box 716
