Your most important piece of equipment is your training shoes. It is imperative that you have proper running shoes that are relatively new. If you are running in shoes that you've used for the entire year or the previous sports season, I would suggest investing in a new pair. Training in shoes that are worn or not designed for running may lead to injury.
During meets, you may compete in your training shoes but "spikes" will provide an advantage on the track surface. These lighter and specially designed racing shoes can be purchased at most running stores. The owner of the Athletic Shoe Shop in Newtown can guide you in your purchase. Jenkintown Running Company and The Training Zone are other stores in the area.
There is no required attire for practice. Just be prepared to workout inside and out and make sure you are prepared for the weather. There are very few days that we stay inside the entire practice.
Please do not wear shorts when the temperature is under 60 degrees.
Uniforms will be distributed during the second week of practice. These must be turned in at the end of the season.
You will have an opportunity to purchase team clothing. In the past, this has included sweatshirts, sweatpants, t-shirts, and spike bags. You are not required to purchase any of these items but we do ask that you dress in Council Rock clothing or school colors during meets.
