The course content for Sixth Grade Humanities (Gifted Support) is social studies based and focuses on these essential questions:
Þ How and why do cultures develop, interact and change?
Þ How does the geography affect the growth of civilizations?
Þ What impact does trade/economics have on the organization and daily life of people?
Þ What are the lessons that can be learned from current events?
Þ What are the beliefs and values that have shaped government over time?
Areas of study will include:
Early Hominids, Early Civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, China, and the Americas.
