Dear Third graders in Mrs. Knell's class,
Welcome back to a brand new year! It's hard to believe that in a few short weeks we will be starting a new and exciting year in third grade. This will be a year to learn lots of new and exciting things, and to challenge yourself in many ways. I can't wait to meet all of you!
I have been teaching at Churchville for 32 years. I have been in third grade for some time now, and I love it! I went to Gettysburg College to get my teaching degree, and then I went to Acadia University to get my Masters degree in Reading. I live in Warrington with my husband and two sons, Eric and Ethan. They both graduated from Penn State University, so we are big Penn State football fans. I also like to watch the Eagles play! I like to read, hike, cook, and ride my bike.
I have been enjoying a fun, relaxing summer with my family. We took a trip to Hawaii with our good friends. We also spent time at the beach in Avalon. I can't wait to hear about what you did this summer, and one way that we will share our summertime fun and get to know each other is by having every member of our class bring something to share to our first morning meeting on the first day of school. A picture or small item that is important to each of you, or artifact that tells us something about your summer that you can hold up will be perfect!
Please check out our Third grade supply list posted on the website. I hope that you enjoy your last days of relaxing, but do take some time to read, and perhaps practice those math facts. I look forward to seeing all of you soon!
