    Poetry

In 1996, April was inaugerated as National Poetry Month by the Academy of American Poets.

Additionally, The Keystone State Reading Association, KSRA has proclaimed April as Families & Reading month. The 2018 Families & Reading resources are available on KSRA's website under the Resources tab. http://ksrapa.org/membership/families-reading

The packet includes book and technology suggestions for children in preschool all the way through middle school as well as ideas for families to foster a love of literacy in the home. Calendars with literacy activities are available for elementary students in English and Spanish.

Listed below are multiple resources to help foster the love of reading poetry between children and parents.  Feel free to share your recommendations as well!
