Home reading should be Fun and Easy!

When reading "Just Right" "Good Fit " books students:

•  should read their book to themselves first

•  will only ask for help with five words or less

•  can use the strategies they know to figure out unknown words

•  become engaged 10 minutes or longer

•  should reread aloud or share what they read with Mom or Dad

•  want to read the book again

•  tell you what they’ve learned, ask questions and make connections to their reading

•  laugh at funny parts

•  read in phrases with expression

•  are relaxed and comfortable and having fun

•  are learning to love reading!!!!!!!
