            Word Helper 
     PBS sponsors this site that has things to offer for both children and parents.  The Word Helper is a 200 word glossary that states the word aloud and shows how it is used when it has multiple meanings. The Word Helper is within the http://www.pbskids.org/site. Each of the different PBS children's programs are listed and there are stories, games, coloring pages, and other activities at each link.
    Book Adventure can help you make your own booklist based on your interests. It offers quizzes on thousands of books, and you can earn points that you may redeem for prizes. It also gives links to other kid-friendly websites.
         Enchanted Learning   
    This is a great place to start your research on almost any topic. You can print off maps, get information about U.S. states, look up world flags, print off booklets, find out about dinosaurs...a great resource for geography, history, science and the world around us.
    Look here if you need to know the definition of a word. Besides the dictionary there is also a daily buzzword, and other activities that let you play with words.
    This site offers many educational games in all subjects. Check it out...you'll be busy for awhile!
    You can go to your grade level and choose from many games and activities. There is something if you are interested in math or science or language arts or whatever. You can create your own word searches or do one of theirs. You will be learning and you won't even know it!
    This site has both a Kid's Place and a Parent's Place. At the Kid's Place you can explore the school books area or take a look at the games or brain power areas. Games and activities are categorized by grade and by subjects. Check out the Brain Teasers and the Wacky Web Tales or challenge yourself with Geo Net...see if you can figure out Fake Out.

    This game at Funbrain.com is a geography game. See if you can name the states, countries or continents.
    These wacky web tales are geared for grade 3 and up. Create your own wacky story using nouns, adjectives, verbs and more. You pick the parts of speech and the computer will complete the story! New stories get added every month.
