MR. DON BROWN ON TUESDAY - APRIL 9, 2013
MR. BROWN'S ABILITY TO PRESENT HISTORY TO CHILDREN NOT ONLY IN A INFORMATIVE WAY BUT THEN TO ADD AN ENTERTAINING TWIST TOO IS WHY WE ARE SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE HIM COME TO OUR LIBRARY AND MODEL HIS CRAFT.
" Don connects history to students's lives. He introduces them to the struggles of real people, and explores the nature of perseverance and its importance to achieve. Don connects writing books to school work. He reminds students that writing and research follow the same principles whether they are for a publisher or a school assignment."
During his presentations these are some ways Mr. Brown a noted author and artist will catch our children's attention:
1. He will explains the steps and standards for writing non-fiction books. Children can use this knowledge to evaluate historical literature.
2. He will outline the process needed to create the images in picture books and describes how students can adopt it for their own art.
3. He will review all the materials he uses to create his books and will show how they can be accessible for student projects.
