• Life Skills Program at the High School

It is important to remember that Life Skills is not a place, it is a program.  The program for your child is dictated by your child's IEP which includes your family goals.  This means that a Life Skills Program will be different for every child.  After 14 years of age, the IEP focuses on transition planning for after 21.  Conversations regarding transitioning to the 18-21 program, ACHIEVE, will begin for any student who turns 18 while at South, regardless of grade level.  Life Skills at the High School will focus on the areas of preparing for Post Secondary Training, Employment and Independent Living.  This preparation may take place in a self contained classroom, therapy room, general education classroom, hallways, community, etc.
