Hello Sixth Grade

    Dear Super Sixth Graders,

Welcome to 6th grade!!  Can you believe this is your last year of elementary school??  We know that this is going to be a wonderful year, and we are so EXCITED to be your teachers and share this journey with you!!

We hope that you all had a great summer and were able to make some fun memories with your family and friends!  Mrs. Peloso spent time making fun memories with her family.  She spent time going to Ocean City, NJ, visiting the Poconos, going to the Philadelphia Zoo, and much more.  She also loved being able to spend time with her three year old (almost four year old) son, Parker.  He loves being outdoors, so lots of time was spent outdoors from looking for bugs, learning to ride a bike, going to playgrounds, and swimming.  Mrs. Kaleck had a memorable summer too. She spent many days lounging by the pool, hanging out with family and friends, and taking day trips to places like Philadelphia, New Hope and the beach. She also traveled to Newport, Rhode Island with her family, enjoying a week of seafood and surf! Mrs. Kaleck has two daughters, Emma,  a sophomore at Penn State (WE ARE!), and Shawna, a soon to be eighth grader. We can't wait to get to know each of you and hear all about your summer adventures during our first few days of school!!

Sixth grade is a year full of amazing experiences!!  This is your year to really shine and show NES what great leaders you are.  It is our goal to help you reach your fullest potential as a student this school year!  Of course there are many interesting topics that we will be studying. This year you will be learning about many ancient civilizations in social studies, studying four different themes in science, using a middle school reading and math program and so much more.  We are really looking forward to creating special memories with all of you this year!!

Parents, as we get ready for the start of our school year please let us know if your child goes by another name.  We will be labeling items throughout the classroom, so we want to be sure we label them correctly.

We invite you to join us for our Meet and Greet on Thursday, August 26th from 2:30-3:30.  If you are able to attend, please feel free to bring your school supplies to drop off.  If you aren’t able to come, we look forward to seeing you on our first day which is Monday, August 30th.  Another important date is our Back to School Night, which will be held on Tuesday, August 31st at 7:00 P.M.

We hope you enjoy your last few weeks of summer and get ready for a fun-filled and challenging year of learning and growing!
