Dear Parents:

As a first grade team we would like to share our tradition of birthday celebrations. In lieu of sending in birthday treats, your child can bring in his/her favorite book to be read by the teacher. This book can be:

1. a favorite book sent in from home 
2. a book the child chooses out of the classroom library

When choosing a book, please consider the length of the book. Books that are 5-10 minutes long are just right for our birthday celebrations. We have found that the student feels excited and special when the teacher honors him/her by reading the book that has been chosen.
