Everyone has moments in their lives when things do not go the way they want or the way they were planned (by yourself or someone else). It is at these times that we each need to have the ability to be flexible in our thinking and actions. Self talk is very helpful when situations arise. This is when we talk to ourselves "in our head". This means thinking about what is happening and thinking about ways we can solve the problem or taking care of the incident that has occurred. Saying to ourselves short phrases such as "stay calm" or "Be okay, it's not the end of the world" or "I can work this out" or even "I think I need help with this, I should ask someone to help me".This takes practice and like everything else in life, it takes time and patience to be successful.Don't give in, keep trying to be flexible and you will be!!!
