Information for Parents
    Dear Parent,
Thank you for taking the time to view my website.  I hope that it will be a useful resource for you and your child as your child learns about chemistry this year.
Listed below are some links that you might find helpful.  Before you examine those, please read the following statement:
I teach well over 100 students each day - Every day, at least 3 students misplace their expensive calculators.  Please have your child mark their calculator with some kind of identification.  Thanks!
Dear Parent Letter -  Accelerated Chemistry
Dear Parent Letter - Honors Chemistry
Dear Parent Letter - Chemistry in the Community
Dear Parent Letter - Advanced Placement Chemistry
Back to school night handout - information about interim report dates, last days of the marking period, etc.
Safety Contract - This must be signed by both parent/guardian and student in order for students to be allowed to do experiments in chemistry class.
Chemtutor.com site - This link will bring you to an article on heuristics.  A great read for students and parents about how studying for chemistry is different than other subjects.  The site also has good treatments on topics in chemistry that we will cover this year.
Random thoughts: some thoughts on studying, attendance, homework, etc., that may be of interest to parents.   It's also good for students to read.
A great article on teenagers and learning - I will go over all of this with your child this year, but it's a great read for you and your child now.   It applies to all subjects and life in general
