Dear Fourth Grader and Family,

My name is Mrs. Soroka and I will be your teacher this wonderfully wacky school year! I am so excited to meet each and every one of you!

First, I wanted to share a few things about myself! I am a Council Rock alum myself. I then went on to Temple University and received my degree in Early Childhood Education. While at Temple, I had the awesome opportunity to be a student teacher here at Newtown Elementary. Five years later, I’m blessed enough to still be a part of this school community! You may have seen me around the building before, or during Student Council events.

Personally, I have many things that I enjoy doing! I love to spend time with my husband, big family, and friends. Summer is my absolute favorite because I love everything about being outside and all the activities it brings. The beach is truly my happy place! I also enjoy hiking, shopping, working out, and being crafty.  Another fun fact is that I am Ukrainian and bi-lingual. I can’t wait to teach you some words!

I look forward to connecting before the school year begins, in whatever form that may be. Together we will make this the best possible year! I look forward to meeting you all soon! Enjoy the last of summer.

Dear 4th Grade Students and Families,

Hello! I hope you are enjoying the summer and spending time with your friends and families. Let me take this opportunity to express my enthusiasm for the upcoming school year. Fourth grade is going to be a wonderful experience!

I have been lucky enough to teach in Newtown Elementary for nineteen years. Previously, I have taught 4th, 1st, 5th and 6th grade and am looking forward to returning to 4th grade. I am also extremely excited to have Mrs. Soroka as my teaching partner! My certifications include both elementary and special education which I received from La Salle University. I completed my Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist from Holy Family College.

On a personal note, my family and I spent time in the Poconos this summer which was quiet and peaceful.  My husband is also part of the Council Rock family and he teaches English at Council Rock South. We have twin daughters, Leah and Mariah, who recently turned fourteen and are in 9th grade. They certainly keep us busy! We also have a dog named Rocky that we completely adore.  I know I will tell stories about all of them throughout the school year.

I look forward to getting to know you and your family. Working together as a team is key to every child’s success.  Enjoy the rest of the summer!
