Welcome 5th Graders! I am so excited to be your 5th grade teacher this year. My goals for the year are to help you love coming to school and to help you become more independent!
I absolutely love my job! Before I took time off to raise my children, I taught 5th and 6th grades at Sol Feinstone. I was there for 5 years. I came back to Council Rock in 2013 as a Literacy Specialist and spent 4 years teaching reading at Goodnoe, Newtown, and Churchville. I have moved around a bit here at Churchville between both 5th and 6th grades. I am excited for another year in 5th grade and to be spending the year with you.
Fifth grade is going to be an awesome year for you. It is a year when you gain more independence and will begin to take on more responsibility for your learning. In Math, we will continue using Bridges and build upon what you learned in 4th grade. We will be using the Wonders Reading Program this year for language arts. You will learn a lot of exciting things in both science and social studies. Most importantly, we will spend the year learning, growing, and having fun! It will be a fast year, so do your best to enjoy every moment--even the challenging ones!
Enjoy your remaining weeks of summer. I hope you get to spend time in the warm weather and sunshine. Read a book (or more than one)!
I look forward to seeing you on the first day of school.
Love, Mrs. Chiliberti
