Tips for Parents of Honors Biology Students

    • Textbooks stay at home (COVERED) student resources available online (Cengage)

    • Homework almost everyday

      • Announcements and assignments posted in Canvas

      • Assignments are also posted in the classroom. Students need to use their agenda books.

    • Lab work:

      • In class: group effort

      • At home: individual

    • Keystone Exam: May

    • SAT II- subject test; Schedule in Spring

    • Assessment policy: All quizzes and tests are returned in a timely manner and reviewed in class. Tests are kept on file at school and are made available, within a reasonable time frame, upon request.  

    • Midterm and final exam:

      • The midterm is 25% of the 2nd marking period.

      •  The final exam is 25 % of the 4th marking period. The final covers information from only the 3rd and 4th marking periods.

    • Science Fair = great opportunity. Dr. Grateful and Mrs. Gould are the sponsors.
