Due to the quarantine, we are working remotely. We are currently working with the districts reopening task force to plan for the 20/21 school year launch and will communicate more about this in the near future.
- We will begin processing daycare and change request forms after July 1, 2020. Both forms can be found on this web page.
- There is a current list of daycare providers to which the district provides busing.
- If you do not see a daycare listed please email us and we can let you know if we are able to bus to that location.
- Please note, no change requests will be processed or implemented between 8/10/20 and 9/10/20. During that time, the completed routing will be transmitted to First Student who will complete dry runs and allow drivers’ time to become acclimated to their routes prior to making changes. Only urgent safety concerns will be evaluated during that two week period.
We ask parents to be patient during the first two weeks of each new school year. Drivers need time to adjust to new stops on their runs and to the needs of their passengers. We are especially mindful of the kindergarten and first-grade students during this time. Additionally, individual schools extend the time for loading each bus to ensure that all students are placed on the correct bus. While we list afternoon drop off times, these are the optimal (earliest) estimation. We certainly make every effort to honor our schedules. However, traffic and road construction throughout the school district can impact greatly on our bus routes, as each bus is assigned with a high school and/or middle school run and one or two elementary runs. We appreciate parent’s patience and understanding as drop off times fluctuate due to changing conditions. We will communicate any route changes made during this time and the duration of the school year through Blackboard. All students are to arrive at their bus stop 5 minutes before their scheduled pick up. Please remember that it can take up to two weeks for schedules to solidify. We suggest students arrive 10 minutes early until a routine is established. The pick-up time may differ slightly from the time noted on HAC as stops or the order of bus stops may need to be changed.
The first four weeks of school are understandably very busy for the Transportation Department. The volume of requests is far heavier than any other time of year. We request that you use only one method of communication. Please avoid contacting the department multiple times. All requests are logged and handled as quickly as possible. Multiple requests leads to duplication of effort within the department; consequently, delaying response times. Rest assured every effort is made to respond timely to every request, no matter how it is received.
