During the 2018-19 school year, we trialed a program called 5-minute-kids TM. This research based program utilizes frequent, brief sessions that are individual and focus on the repeated practice or drilling of the student's target sound(s).
We observed student progress with this program and therefore plan to continue to implement this type of therapy with our students working on articulation skills, as appropriate for each individual child.
Generally, we see students for 5 minutes of individual articulation drills four times a week. Additional classroom observations will be done to monitor skill generalization and maintenance. There are exceptions and individual modifications are communicated to parents.
