MARCH 7 SCHOOL VISITATION ACTIVITY MESSAGE: SENT FEBRUARY 22, 2019
Dear CR School Community -
For months now, CR administrators have worked collectively to develop a Redistricting Transition Plan that speaks to the needs of our district. On, February 4, 2019, I shared an outline of our plan with supporting information to all CR families via email. This outline is currently posted in the Redistricting Transition Hub of the CRSD website for community review.
The first formal activity identified in our Redistricting Transition Plan is a school visitation session on the morning of March 7, 2019, with a follow-up visitation session to occur on June 12, 2019. On each of these mornings, students being redistricted in Kindergarten through 5th grades will be able to visit the school they will attend beginning in the 2019-2020 school year. The family of each PM Kindergarten student being redistricted will be directly contacted by the building principal, and they will be invited to attend both the March 7th and June 12th transition visitations.
Participating students will be transported to their the school they will attend next school year where they will interact with their building principal, staff, and students. Though school visit dates and times are consistent across the district, each visit will be designed a bit differently to reflect individual school cultures.
Redistricted families can expect to receive electronic communication from their current principal on Monday, February 25 that will include a permission form for the bus ride to and from their receiving schools on March 7.
Change of this magnitude can produce concerns and anxiety. I'd like to remind our entire school community that Council Rock is committed to ensuring that the needs of our families are fully met. I will continue to provide updates on transition activities as we move forward, and thank you for your support of our redistricting initiative.
Respectfully -
