Dear Sixth Graders and Families,
Welcome to sixth grade! I hope you have made the most of your summer and are looking forward to the new school year!
My name is Ms. Ficarotta and I am excited to be your teacher this year. I have been a teacher at M.M.W. since it first opened in 2000. I have taught second grade, fifth grade and now sixth grade at M.M.W. I also taught first grade at Rolling Hills before coming to Maureen M. Welch.
I have two children, Jake, who is an artist and works for a clinical research company, and Alexa, who will be graduating this fall from Bloomsburg University.
This summer was a busy one! I traveled to Nashville with my friends, took a roadtrip to Indiana for a wedding, and spent a week in Sao Miguel, an island in the Portuguese archipelago. I also sat by the pool, read a lot of great books and spent time with my boyfriend, Jim, at his beachhouse.
If you have not already done so, please check out the sixth grade supply list so you can be prepared on the first day. Also, be sure to bring a snack, a refillable water bottle, and a book that you are reading.
I look forward to learning along with you this year and making lots of memories! See you on Tuesday, September 5th in room D15.
:) Ms. Tracy Ficarotta
