Dear Fourth Grader,
My name is Mr. Mike Ropars and I’m going to be your 4th grade teacher for the 2022-23 school year. Life has definitely come full circle as this is my first year teaching at Rolling Hills, where I student taught as recently as December 2018. For the past few years, I have worked at Holland Elementary School and I am very familiar with the 4th grade curriculum. Attached you will see a school supplies list which is the same for each student for the entire 4th grade team. I cannot wait to meet each and every one of you. Make sure you are ready for high energy and lots of fun this year in 4th grade. Before you come into the classroom, I want to tell you a little bit about myself. My favorite subjects are Math and Writing. I am a person who is always active. Growing up, I played baseball, football, and ice hockey. I am a die-hard sports fan who loves all Philadelphia sports teams. When the Eagles won the Super Bowl in 2017-18, I got to meet all the players and get their autographs. Collecting sports memorabilia is my hobby outside of school. I love collecting autographs with my dad and have been doing it with him since I was your age. However, if you are not a sports fan, that is okay because I have been to Disney World 19 times, most recently this past July. I love talking about Disney movies, rides, and food. I would have to say my favorite Disney movie is Toy Story. I do have exciting news. I am getting married this May. You will hear me talk about my fiancee Jess, who is a nurse. She and I love dogs and going to the beach. I look forward to meeting you really soon, either at the open house on August 25th or the first day of school on August 29th!
