Welcome to North String Orchestra!!!
-
The Council Rock North Orchestras are under the direction of Ms Abigail Stratton. There are 2 performing ensembles in which students can perform; the Full Orchestra, and the Chamber Orchestra. Each group plays its own music and is designed to cater to the talents of each group. The Full Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra rehearse in the afternoon after school on Wednesdays from 3pm to 5pm. Below you will find a description of each performing ensemble.
The Full Orchestra is comprised of ninth through twelfth grade students who take orchestra as their curricular class. Any string player taking a music-based class or music related class in school can participate in this group. Some pieces in this ensemble require winds and brass and will audition band students to participate in these concerts.
The Chamber Orchestra is comprised of select ninth through twelfth grade students. Entrance into this group is contingent upon an audition. Members of the Chamber Orchestra must also participate in the Full Orchestra.
This group of students are a great and talented bunch of kids that get to do a range of classical, pop, Broadway, and other types of repertoire. We have great events such as Music In the Parks, BCMEA, PMEA, Orchestra Picnics, and grand trips around the country and, in the past, the world!
