Curriculum Review Cycle
The Council Rock School District Curriculum Renewal Cycle has been created to clarify the expectations in organizational coordination and decision-making. The cyclical process is based on the merits of quality control to drive a system of continuous improvement in student achievement. The vision of the school district is "Students First. Always." The curriculum renewal cycle identifies the student at the center of the process by analyzing data and evidence from student performance to monitor the effectiveness of resources, instruction, and curriculum implementation.
Phases of the Curriculum Renewal Cycle
In creating the Curriculum Renewal Cycle, many factors were reviewed in placing content areas into a Phase. The first criteria used was to create grade level bands to create consistency in programming and resources. Secondly, we determined programs that were currently in implementation with new resources. Lastly, we used the information from the State School Board to identify content areas whose standards were newly updated or in the process of being updated (links are provided in these areas with the target date for State implementation). Time spent in a Phase is determined by the work to be completed.
