    Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year!

We are proud of the excellent academic and extra-curricular programs we have to offer at Newtown Middle School. We are committed to providing you with every opportunity to achieve success at this most important and most transitional point in your education. You are an important part of the Newtown Middle School Community. We are dedicated to working together with you to create memories that will last a lifetime and to assist you in becoming a lifelong learner!

In order to achieve at your highest level in Middle School, among your most important skills will be organization and planning. In addition, you will need to know the standards and expectations of our school community. This planner provides you with the tools you will need to be the best student you can be. The first 35 pages contain our student handbook. Please read it carefully and refer to it periodically. The rest of the book is a calendar/planner where you will record short-term and long-term projects and assignments. Use this along with the Home Access Center to keep up to date on your assignments and progress.

If you commit yourself to a thorough understanding of the behavioral guidelines, academic standards and opportunities offered at Newtown Middle School by using this agenda book, then your brief time here as a part of the Newtown Middle School Community will be the source of great memories and success!

Parents, please take the time to review the agenda book with your child. When you have finished, sign the form in the front of the agenda book together with your child and return it to school with your student by Friday, September 8, 2017.
