Degrees and Certifications:
I'm a lover of the world and all it has to offer.
I am committed to being a citizen of the world, and I encourage my students to become the same.
Learning another language has been the best decision I made by far because it's a way to live in two different worlds.
Becoming a Spanish teacher happened organically. I did not excel in the language in high school, but I become friends with two exchange students from Spain, and I started to travel to Madrid to visit. In college, I joined the Spanish Language Learning Community in freshman year, and I continued with it for four years and lived in Madrid during my Junior year. I fell in love with the culture, the way they express themselves, and the relationships I had with Spanish speakers. I graduated in 2007 from Wagner College with a BA in Spanish. I attended New York University afterwards where I decided I would become a teacher of English to international students and Spanish to American students. I was offered a teaching job in Philadelphia after one year, and I moved there to continue my education and be with my family.
I graduated from Temple University with a M.Ed in TESOL and a dual teaching certification for Spanish and ESL. Each of my experiences teaching thus far has had a profound impact on my life, and I grow more curious and excited about my future in this field.
I look forward to having more adventures with my students and the Council Rock community!
