STEM education is an interdisciplinary approach to learning. It removes barriers separating the four disciplines of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics and integrates them into real-world, rigorous, and relevant learning experiences for students.
Our club will ask students to complete a range of tasks with limited resources. An overview of their activity includes:
- Limiting materials for each task to common household objects
- Guiding students through each task by the steps of the engineering design process
- Providing students with a framework to grow their comfort level and independently complete tasks.
Student collaboration is in integral part of STEM learning. We will encourage collaboration by having the students complete their tasks in groups. The aim of the club is to teach students to communicate openly, support each other and respect the contributions of all members.
