• Dear Fourth Grade Families,

Hello and welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I hope you all have had a great summer! My name is Ms. Quilty and I am thrilled to join Maureen M. Welch Elementary and be your child’s teacher this year. We invite you to join our Meet and Greet on Thursday, August 29th from 11:00 am-12:00 pm. You will get to see a sneak peek of our classroom before the first day of school on September 3rd!

I can’t wait to get to know all of you. In the meantime, here is a little bit about me: I grew up in Bucks County and went to the University of Wisconsin to continue my family’s Badger legacy. I loved Madison (and the ice cream!) so much I stayed to teach for a few years. In the past two years I have taught at Newtown, Goodnoe, Richboro and Rolling Hills Elementary schools. In my spare time I love to read, spend time with family and friends and travel. This summer I traveled to South Africa, Zimbabwe and Botswana!

I am so grateful for your support in your child’s education. I appreciate your time in reading information sent home in binders. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns. I really value an open line of communication between home and school.

To our fourth graders: I can’t wait to meet you and to join our classroom! We have many exciting activities planned, such as visiting the Churchville Nature Center in the fall and the 4th grade State Fair in the spring. In math, you will learn even more about multiplication, division, decimals, measurement, geometry, and fractions with our new Bridges math program.  We will be continuing to use the Language Arts program, Journeys, for reading and writing.  In social studies, we will be learning about Pennsylvania and regions of the United States. Some of the topics that we will be exploring in science are Magnets & Electricity, Rocks, Soil and Landforms, and Animal Studies.

We’re going to have so much fun in fourth grade together. Looking forward to a wonderful start to the year!

    Warmly,

    Ms. Quilty
