PRINCIPAL MCCARTHY AND PRINCIPAL GRIMM RETIREMENTS APPROVED BY SCHOOL BOARD

At the February 25th meeting of the Council Rock Board of School Directors, the Board approved the retirements of Susan McCarthy, Principal of Council Rock High School North, and Rebecca Grimm, Principal of Maureen M. Welch Elementary School.  Both retirements go into effect at the conclusion of the 2020-2021 school year.  

With 48 years of service and 28 years of service respectively, Susan McCarthy and Rebecca Grimm have been integral members of the Council Rock educational team. Each has served in various professional roles during their tenure with the District, positively impacting their field of education in countless ways.  

Susan McCarthy joined Council Rock in 1973 as a teacher of English at Council Rock High School before serving as a school counselor, administrative assistant for curriculum, and assistant principal. In 1999, she accepted the leadership position of Richboro Middle School Principal. Susan McCarthy was named the principal of Council Rock High School North in 2000, where she has successfully served her school community to date.  

Rebecca Grimm joined Council Rock in 1993 as a teacher serving both special education classes as well as regular content classes. In 2004, she transitioned to a leadership role as Richboro Middle School Assistant Principal and subsequently served Richboro Middle School as principal. In 2006, she became the Principal at Richboro Elementary School. In 2015, she was named the principal of Maureen M. Welch Elementary School, where she has successfully served her school community to date.  

Council Rock School District sincerely wishes Susan McCarthy and Rebecca Grimm wonderfully fulfilling and relaxing retirements. Additionally, the District offers both educators heartfelt thanks for their tremendous history of service to Council Rock students and their families.
