MARCH 7 REDISTRICTING TRANSITION ACTIVITY OVERVIEW
On Thursday, March 7, K-6 students from around the district traveled to their redistricting school that they will attend in September 2019. Buses delivered students to their buildings where they were greeted by principals, staff members, and student ambassadors.
Once inside, students learned about the school by going on personalized tours. They stopped and visited various classrooms where faculty facilitated small group transition activities such as the making of a friendship web and get-to-know-me/get-to-know-you discussions. Some students enjoyed coloring handshake images while others worked together to create a new school quilt.
Principals were visibly excited to meet and greet students, with all school leaders making personalized connections with their visitors. Dr. Jordan and Mrs. Fox even teamed up for a special joint RES/WES morning announcement to celebrate Transition Day!
