2021-2022 ELEMENTARY LEARNING MODEL OPTIONS

2021-2022 ELEMENTARY LEARNING MODEL OPTIONS

Learning Model Options Overview
During the 2021-2022 school year, the Council Rock School District will offer two (2) program models for elementary students. We offer these two models to be respectful of the health and safety needs of our families because we do not anticipate that a COVID-19 vaccine will be available for children in grades K-6 prior to the start of the 2021-2022 school year for those families who wish to have their elementary-age children vaccinated.

Traditional Classroom Option
The first program model will be the traditional classroom model. Students enrolled in this program will attend school in person 5 days a week. If the Governor of Pennsylvania continues to order the wearing of masks, students in the traditional classroom model will be required to wear masks as per the Governor's order. Students enrolled in the traditional model will not have the option to livestream into their classrooms if they need to be absent from school.

District Cyber Program Option
The second program model will be the District Cyber Program. Students enrolled in this program will attend school virtually 5 days a week. Each grade level classroom may consist of students from different elementary schools in the District. The students in the District Cyber Program will receive all instructional materials, including a Chromebook. They will attend elementary specials virtually with their cyber classroom peers. The students enrolled in the District Cyber Program will receive supplemental services such as literacy support, math enrichment, gifted support, special education services, and speech support virtually. However, they may join some students in the traditional model via livestreaming to effectively group students by needs

Window for Changing from Cyber to Traditional Option
Parents will have the opportunity to switch their child from the District Cyber Program to the traditional classroom model at the end of the second marking period in January 2022. Parents in the traditional classroom model will not have the opportunity to switch their children to the District Cyber Program.
