- CR High School South
ARMED FORCES LETTER
Dear Parent/Guardian and Member of the Class of 2022 or 2023:
Pennsylvania law requires every public school district to make available to Armed Forces Recruiters, upon request, certain information on juniors and seniors who have reached the age of seventeen. Since we anticipate that you will be graduating with either the class of 2022 or 2023, Council Rock High School South will be providing your name, address, date of birth, and telephone number (if published), to Armed Forces Recruiters upon their request.
If you do not wish to have your name appear on this list you must advise our Counseling office in writing within 21 days of the date of this letter; otherwise, your name will appear on the list which will be made available to Armed Forces Recruiters. You may also fax your request to 215-944-1148 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Irene Pontarelli in our counseling office at email@example.com.
Attention All Male Seniors:
The Council Rock School District, in cooperation with the Selective Service System, would like to remind all male students of their legal obligation to register with the Selective Service within 30 days before or after their 18th birthday. Failure to register is a serious federal criminal offense carrying penalties of up to $250,000 in fines and/or five years in jail. Registering is also a requirement to be eligible for federally funded job training programs, college student loans, and employment with the federal government and many state, county and municipal governments. Since we do not want any young man to suffer any adverse consequences, we urge full compliance with the requirements of this important civic responsibility.
Selective Service has made it even easier for men to register. Many of you will receive a registration card in the mail, which you simply fill out, stamp and drop in the mail. Most men will receive this card a few weeks before their 18th birthday. If you do not, you can fill out a registration card at any U.S. Post Office or register online at http://www.sss.gov/.
